BAK BAKFlip G2

If you're looking for a hard tonneau cover that's there when you need it and out of the way when you need your truck bed, the BAK BakFlip G2 is what you need. The BakFlip G2 is made of expanded polystyrene sandwiched with aluminum panels, black powder coated aluminum frames, and heavy duty rubber hinges. There's no drilling for installation and you can operate the tonneau cover from either side of the bed - no switching sides to lock everything down!

The low profile and textured style of the BakFlip G2 gives your truck a slick look when closed, and it folds up out of the way when you're hauling cargo in your truck bed. Just fold the tonneau cover up against your rear window and you're good to go - no un-installing and re-installing. The G2 also have different locking positions that automatically lock the hinges into place as you fold it up, so you can take off with the tonneau partially folded down. Perfect for hauling wood or ladders while you still have some smaller cargo toward the front of the bed. Overall, we love the BakFlip tonneau covers, and the G2 is the most economical tonneau cover with all the features you expect from a hard working tonneau cover.

Q. Is this cover waterproof?

A. No cover is 100% waterproof, but the Bakflip covers have a patented water drainage system that works great. Water flows down a track and out drainage tubes.

Q. Can this cover be painted?

A. No, there is a hair cell textured finish that will not accept paint well.

Q. Does this cover lock?

A. The cover requires the tailgate to be opened first. So, if your tailgate is locked, the bed of the truck is secure.

Q. Can I stand on this cover?

A. This cover is rated to hold 300 lbs evenly distributed across the cover. But, if you want to stand on it, we recommend that you fold it up twice to where all panels are stacked behind the cab. This will give you an excellent platform.

Q. How long does it take to install?

A. Standard installation usually only takes 30 minutes to an hour. However, the installation will vary depending on the person and the truck.

Q. Is this cover easy to remove?

A. Yes, you can remove the panels quickly with no tools. But most truck owners find they don't need to remove it since they can fold and secure it against the cab.

Installation

All of the Bakflip Tonneau Covers install the exact same way - the G2, HD, and the F1. Now depending on what truck you drive, installations will vary.
