Factory Paint Codes for Trucks

How and where do I find my truck's paint code?

The paint code for your truck is usually located on the driver's side door or the driver's side door jamb.

Chevy/GMC, however, have their paint code label in the glove box.

Below are some photos of different makes of trucks and where to look on the label to find your paint code.

Please note that these are Examples, and your actual paint code may differ.

Chevy/GMC: The first example is for a Chevy/GMC truck. In this example, the paint code is found on a label in the glove box and it is "U 9260". The BC/CC before the paint code stands for "Base Coat/Clear Coat."

Dodge: In this example, the paint code is "PDM", and the label is on either the driver's side door.

Ford: Ford's paint code is located on the driver's side door. In this example the paint code is "E4."

Nissan: Nissan's paint code is found toward the bottom of the driver's side door jamb. In this example the paint code is "KH3."

Toyota: Toyota's paint code is found on either the driver's side door or the driver's side door jamb. In this example, the paint code is "1D6". The "C/TR" prior to the paint code stand for "Color/Trim."
